Essential. A word that means both basic and indispensable.
When the pandemic hit, the definition of essential expanded practically overnight. The critically essential nature of our schools was laid bare. The nation at large, and our community, immediately understood: schools are a lifeline.
PCEF’s mission – to fund initiatives that inspire all Park City students to successfully reach their academic and lifelong potential – sparked an all-out sprint to relieve a bit of the burden.
This - so our students could focus on academics, and teachers could focus on students.
YOUR donations funded nearly $250,000 dollars in emergency cash relief to families in financial crisis.
You ensured our Bright Futures students - students who are the first in their families to attend college - managed tuition payments while their families focused on food and shelter.
As learning shifted online, teachers, desperate for materials and tools to use to “build the airplane -- while flying it,” received more than $45 thousand dollars in grants to support their efforts. Everything from traditional school supplies to Wi-Fi hotspots, and so much more, thanks to donor support.
We all knew being in school in person was essential - so we went back, led by our brave, fierce educators. As they battled through the most challenging year of their careers, PCEF established the Educator Wellness Initiative, which provided food, warm drinks, programming, and more.
Together, we did all of this AND funded our regular core initiatives, infusing $1.3 million dollars for things like Preschool, Afterschool, Elementary Art, PCCAPS, and Classroom Grants.
Your support, your giving hearts, has already made a difference in thousands of lives.
As we move forward in a year of still more uncertainty, the only way we can continue to “change the equation” is with YOUR support. There is literally no better investment, in these times of unprecedented challenges and needs - than in our children, our educators, our schools - our future.
Right now, more than ever, it is essential to give, and we are so thankful for your support!
