Rebeca Gonzalez - Bright Futures Co-Chair
Rebeca Gonzalez is an extraordinary Dual Language Immersion (DLI) Spanish and Latinos in Action (LIA ) Teacher for the Park City School District and the Program Outreach Coordinator at Bright Futures. Her unwavering commitment to creating a safe and nurturing learning environment for her students reflects her genuine passion for education and social change. As a native Spanish speaker, Rebeca not only imparts the language but also shares her rich cultural heritage from her hometown of Park City.
For the past 10 years, Rebeca has been dedicated to youth and community development, making her a natural leader and role model within the Latinx community. Being a first-generation college student, she earned her bachelor's degree in Secondary Education and ESL Endorsement from the University of Utah. Her personal journey and experiences as part of an immigrant family from Mexico have shaped her empathy and understanding of the challenges students face.
Through her work with Bright Futures, Rebeca's ultimate goal is to ensure that every student achieves high school and college graduation, empowering them to succeed and overcome obstacles. As Park City Education Foundation and Park City Community Foundation board member, she embraces the spirit of giving back and combines her deep roots with a strong commitment to serving children and families in Park City and greater Summit County.
Rebeca Gonzalez's biography not only reflects her impressive accomplishments and dedication to education but also highlights her profound connection to her community and the transformative power she brings to the lives of her students and their families. In her free time, Rebeca enjoys being a ski mentor for the SOS Outreach program, attending live concerts, dancing, and spending time with her family.
