Park City High School has been named the second-highest ranked traditional public high school in Utah and the fifth-best high school overall in the state, according to the U.S. News & World Report 2025–2026 Best High Schools rankings released this week.
Nationally, Park City High School placed #909 out of nearly 18,000 schools, placing it among the top 5 percent of public high schools in the country. Rankings are based on performance in state-required tests, graduation rates, and success in preparing students for college.
Park City High School scored particularly well in college readiness measures, earning the #1 ranking in Utah for both the College Readiness Index and the College Curriculum Breadth Index. The school reported an 82 percent AP exam participation rate, with 74 percent of students passing at least one AP exam.
“This recognition is a testament to the commitment of our students, expertise and passion of staff, and the ongoing dedication of families,” said Superintendent Lyndsay Huntsman. “Academic success at Park City High School is built on strong community partnerships that engage, challenge, and guide every student, beginning with the early years and continuing throughout their educational journey.”
The school’s 94 percent graduation rate also exceeds the state average. According to U.S. News data, Park City High School’s student body includes 22 percent minority enrollment, with 16 percent economically disadvantaged students.
As the only high school in the Park City School District, PCHS serves approximately 1,540 students in grades 9–12. With these rankings, the school continues its tradition of combining rigorous academic opportunities with inclusive programs that serve the entire community.
